Where there is Passion, Excitement will Follow.

Ever had one of those days where you are going through the motions, enthusiastic about nothing, then out of no where *BAMB* you get this excited electrical feeling, but you don't know exactly about what you are excited because your life is actually very boring.
Maybe it is the coffee {caffeine}, or an imbalance of hormones which give me this excited and joyful feeling, because really, what does a nursing student have to be excited about? 0500 mornings? four books with 50+ chapters each? projects which are not factored into the final grade of which some students are still unaware?
Oh Elizabeth, you hypocrite! You are complaining! You said that was your pet peeve!
I promise I am not complaining! Indeed, this summer hit me with new challenges, to include large and intimidating books and awkward 'morning-person' time schedules; but I am satisfied.  Early mornings and long days are challenging, but through them, I gaining agility and the loosely fitted title of 'morning person.'  Information for tests on top of clinical Care Plans on top of health assessment's Health History on top of a transculture project; time management is of essence.  However, you can only manage the time that you have; do know that if there were more than 24 hours in a day, nursing school wouldn't be as hard as 'everyone' says.  So if anyone is starting a petition to add more hours into the day, give me a pen and I'll be sure to sign it!
Tuesday's morning Health Assessment Lab gets a visit from the Chancellor and Congressman Richard Hudson.

But really, life is good! There is so much for me to be thankful for and nursing school is to 'blame.'  I have great classmates, of which whom are quickly gaining the title 'friend'; I have great professors who are always there to help, encourage, and guide me; I have a great family of which who are understanding when I have a stress induced panic-attack, loving when I am discouraged about life's crazy curve balls, and funny which always help me stay enthusiastic about life.
A few months ago, I would have told you that my life sucked and there was not much to live for; I was living under self-induced depression through constant negative thoughts.
It feels so good to be happy; to be  f r e e .

Well, in the midst of all life's chaos, I decided to try something new and had a great time: I participated in a pistol shooting match with my dad.
There were three stages with a fun head-to-head shoot-out competition at the end.  Participants were split into two groups and showed the proper procedure of each stage.  I have been to 3-gun matches with my dad before, so I know the general rules and the order in which these matches are carried out; but if this type of entertainment is foreign to you, each stage is timed and you can get points against you, for example, if you fail to engage a target (shoot at a target), 10 seconds will be added to your time.
Normally for new experiences outside of my comfort zone, I become hesitant, and really nervous.  However, when I stepped up to shoot, all I had to do was shoot.  It did help that my dad went right before me during each stage; I was more comfortable with the task ahead of me when I was able to watch him run through it right before me.
Overall, I had a great time.  It is always a blessing to spend time with my dad when he is in a good mood because we are both doing what he loves to do.  I love seeing his excitement when I get involved in his hobbies; even if I don't enjoy doing it {which I so enjoyed myself today}, everything is worth it when I see joy through his smile.
Just wait 'till hunting season; 'cause I'm feeling it!

But this is seriously my life; couldn't be more thankful for it.

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, souland body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
